Terms and Conditions of PL Economics Tutors

These Terms of Use (‘Terms”) govern the use of the PL Economics Tutors (Pty) Ltd. Website (www.pleconomicstutors.co.za) (“Site”), linked websites and any software applications that we link you to, and any services (“Services”) provided by PL Economics Tutors (Pty) Ltd. Kindly carefully read and understand the terms and conditions associated with using our website or any services offer, and make sure to accept them request any service.


1. General Terms
  • PL Economics Tutors provide this Site to users tutoring services (“Clients”) and to users seeking to provide tutoring services (“Tutors”), and to any other entity on whose behalf users accept these Terms. The term “You” or “Users” shall refer to Clients. Tutors or any person or entity, who views, uses, accesses, browses or submits any content or material to the Site.
  • These Terms are entered into by and between PL Economics Tutors and you, and you accept them by a) using our website or blog or support site, b) accepting any Services; c) enrolling in a program or workshop, d) using the Services in any other manner, and/or e) acknowledging agreement with these Terms. If you do not agree to these in any other manner, do not use the Site or our Services.
  • Should any Law find the Terms invalid or Regulations of any government or by any court or arbitrator, the parties agree that such a provision will be amended in order to achieve the original purpose and aims of that position, and all the other provisions of the Terns will remain in full force and effect.  
2. Privacy Policy
  • PL Economics Tutors strives to have a fair and resilient privacy policy for all clients, Tutors and Students.

2.1 Personal Information

  • “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal information” are collected and used by PL Economics Tutors in order to gain better understanding on how to provide better quality Services to our Students/Clients and Tutors.
  • Personal Information is information that can be used to personally identify you that is required to register on our Site. It includes information regarding your contact details, physical address, ID number, academic records, banking details biography and any other details that are personal to you as a Client.
  • Personal and Non-Personal information are submitted by you as the Client through the registration process and gathered throughout the Services we provide to you.
  • We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others.
  • We many use third party service providers to help us operate our business or administer activities on our behalf. We may share your information with these third parties as part of our business operations.
  • We use Non-Personal information to help us improve the Service and customize the user experience.
  • If our information practices change at any time in the future, we will post the policy changes to the Site so that you may opt out of the new information. It is your responsibility as the Client to check the site periodically if you are concerned about how your information is used.

  • PL Economics Tutors offers tutoring services, a Tutor and Client matching platform
  • PL Economics Tutors offer mentorship and coaching to its Clients/Students
  • Tutors are independent and they are hired by Clients/Students
  • Tutors control the methods, materials and all aspects of the lessons. But it will be a mutual beneficial relationship

 3.1 Payments

  • You as the Client/Student understand and agree to abide by PL Economics Tutors and Client payment policies. You agree to all costs and payments. These costs include but are not limited to a) Membership fee, b) cancellation fees and c) packages fee/tutors time fees.
  • PL Economics Tutors does not accept or deal with cash, and payment options include electronic funds transfer directly into our bank accounts (obtained from accounts@pleconomicstutors.co.za) or via instant EFT, debt or credit card payments electronically via our site.
  • We use services of PayFast to facilitate these payments from our site, and when you are paying you will be re-directed their most secure payment portal to complete the transaction. For more information on this secure service can be found on their site https://www.payfast.co.za/. 
  • Our fees or costs are shown on our Site

3.2 Applying for the Services

  • All Clients/Students are requested to supply PL Economics Tutors with their email, physical address and cell phone number in order to verity them.
  • The Clients must commit to always treat PL Economics Tutors and stuff with respect. Any form of disrespect, racism or prejudice will result in immediate termination of the Client.
  • The Client commits to ensuring that all communication is friendly, professional and helpful. Any communication that is deemed inappropriate by PL Economics Tutors may result in termination of client in using our services.
4. Replacements and Termination
  • If the Tutor is unable to complete the Course of Tuition, or the Client requests a replacement Tutor due to not being satisfied with the original Tutor assigned to them, PL Economics Tutors will endeavor to find a suitable replacement for the Client. 
  • If PL Economics Tutors is unable to find a suitable replacement within 72 hours to complete the remaining Lessons, PL Economics Tutors will refund a portion of the fees pre-paid by the Client representing the number of Lessons that the Tutor or any replacement Tutor has been unable to complete.
  • If the replacement Tutor meets the Pl Economics Tutors’ criteria in terms of subject/module, level of knowledge and with mutual availability or any time convenient for the Client. However, if the Student wishes to terminate the Tuition mid-Course, the provisions of paragraph (2) will apply.
  • If the Client wishes to terminate the Tuition mid-Course for any reason, no refunds will be granted for the balance of Lessons that have been taught. In addition, one week’s notice must be provided. During that notice week, the Client may choose to utilize the Lessons planned and if the Client chooses not to utilize the Lessons during that week. PL Economics Tutors will refund all monies prepaid excluding fees for the Lessons that took place and those fees for the week following the notification of Termination.
5. Scheduling and Cancellation
  • Clients are encouraged to prepare for lessons beforehand. 
  • Notice of cancellation for a scheduled tutoring Lesson for any reason, the Client must notify the Tutor and PL Economics 10 hours prior to the scheduled Lesson. If notice is given more than 10 hours prior to the scheduled Lesson, the Student will not be charged for the Lesson.
  • If notice of cancellation of a scheduled tutoring Lesson is given within 10 hours of the start of the Lesson, 1-hour worth of lesson will be deducted from student’s account, unless the Tutor deems the cause of cancellation to be unavoidable and agrees not to accept payment for the Lesson.
  • If the Client does not show up within 30 minutes of the scheduled time, the Tutor is entitled to terminate the lesson and the Client will be charged 1 hour worth of lesson, unless the Tutor deems the cause of cancellation to be unavoidable and agrees not to accept payment for the Lesson.
6. Third Party Usage
  • PL Economics Tutors may from time to time use third party agencies to perform, criminal background checks, Sex offender register checks, and identification verifications reports.
  • PL Economics Tutors is not responsible for the accuracy, verification or validation of the outcome, which this third party finds. As a client, you agree that PL Economics can at its own discretion choose to terminate services and any agreement with any or all parties in response to such findings and reports, without verification or validation.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
  • Any Client or Tutor uses the Site and our Services at their own risk. PL Economics disclaims all conditions stipulated, represented, and guarantees of any kind, including any implied warranty of satisfactory quality or purpose.
  • As a Client, you assume all risk for any loss or damage to your personal or other computer system or device when using Site or services. 
8. Limitation of Liability and Indemnity
  • As a Client, you understand and agree that PL Economics has not control over actions or omissions of any subscriber of PL Economics Services, as a result PL Economics cannot be held liable for the performance, conduct, or ethics of any Tutor of Client whether on or off the Site.
