Microeconomic theory is also the basis for most applied fields of economics such as industrial economics, labour economics, natural resources and environmental economics, agricultural economics, regional economics, public finance, development economics and international economics.

Advanced Macroeconomics

This course is intended to help students to understand important macroeconomics issues such as economic growth, consumption, investment, and unemployment at an advanced level. It also introduced students to important mathematical techniques (such as dynamical systems, dynamic programming) which commonly used in research.

Advanced Microeconomics

This course examines economic decisions are made by households and firms, and how they interact to determine the quantities and prices of goods and the allocation of resources under different market structures. It also studies the equilibrium in presence of externalities/public goods and information asymmetry. The course examines microeconomic policy and the role of government in allocating resources.

International Economics

This course provides an analysis of the economic relationships between countries, covering both and monetary issues. It explores important topics such why countries trade with each other and the effects of international trade on welfare and income distribution.

Health Economics

Healthcare Economics focuses on core healthcare economics introductory and mainstream environmental concerns. Healthcare professionals across different countries in the world, play a critical and crucial role in the country’s current healthcare environment and economic wellbeing. It is therefore, critical that healthcare professionals are empowered with a set of strategic and critical thinking skills to effectively operate within these angle economic conditions.

Industrial Organization

It is the branch of microeconomics that is concerned with study of imperfect competition, that functioning of markets with few competitors. The presence of a small number of competitors creates situations of strategic interactions among the market participants.

Public Economics

Public economics uses the tools of microeconomics and empirical analysis to study the impact of government policies on economic behavior and the distribution of resources in the market.

Economic Analysis

This course is designed to introduce intermediate economics principles and to enhance many of the learning objectives of the economics program including, critical thinking, problem solving and quantitative skills and communication, research and technology skills.

Financial Economics

It includes a critical discussion of the efficient markets theory, an overview of quantitative methods, considers risk aversion in the context of utility theory, examines portfolio theory, the Capital Pricing Model and multi-factor asset pricing models, cover bond pricing, duration and convexity.

Statistics and Econometrics

Econometrics

The purpose of this course is to prepare students for basic empirical work in economics. In particular, topic include basic data analysis, regression analysis, testing, and forecasting.

Cross Sectional Statistics

A crow-sectional is defined as a type of observational research that analyzes data variables collected at one given one point in time across a sample population or pre-defined subset.

Time Series Statistics

The course provides a survey of the theory and application of series and methods in statistics. Topics covered in this course include univariate stationary and non-stationary models, vector auto regressions, frequency domain methods, models for estimation and inference in persistent time series and structural breaks. 

Mathematical Statistics

An introduction to the mathematical foundations and techniques of modern statistical analysis for the interpretation of data in quantitative sciences. application to the sciences.

Accounting and Finance

Financial Accounting

It focuses on procedures and practices from accounting cycle through financial statement presentation with an emphasis on recognizing, valuing, reporting, and disclosing asset, liabilities, and equity.

Financial Management

This course provides students with the financial knowledge and skills required to participate in business activities such as financial planning, financial control and to make savvy financial and investment decisions.

Taxation

This course brings students with a wide range of tax knowledge to a common point. It covers specific aspects of introductory taxation with particular emphasis on the determination of corporate income and tax.

High School Accounting

This course is designed to teach students how to keep business records of various operations. The accounting cycle is covered in complete detail from recording of an entry from a source document through preparing of financial statements.

Mathematics and Science

Applied Mathematics

This course deals with concepts of complex numbers, matrices and other basic notions of linear algebra over the real and complex numbers. This provides the necessary mathematical background for further study in mathematics, physics, computing science, chemistry and engineering.

Calculus

This course strengthens students understanding and integration. Calculus concepts explored include limits and continuity, derivatives; define integrals, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions and techniques of integration.

Linear Algebra

Linear algebra is the study of linear systems of equations, vector spaces, and linear transformation. The student will become competent in soling linear equations, performing matrix algebra, calculating determinants, and finding eigenvalues and eigenvectors.

High School Mathematics

Topics include the real number system, first degree equations and inequalities polynomials, applications of factoring, statistics, probability and geometry; functions, relations, graphs, quadratic equations and inequalities. Students will master algebraic skills essential for the study for higher mathematics.

Physical Science

It is the study of matter and energy and includes chemistry and physics. Topics covered include matter, the periodic table, elements, mixtures, compounds, chemical reactions, light and electromagnetic, spectrum energy, heat, motion, Newton’s laws and momentum.
